Email support@photether.com. For a connection problem, the most useful thing you can send is the diagnostic log — Settings → Diagnostics → Share log. It records connection events and errors, and pairing secrets are redacted before it is written.

Common questions

The camera pairs, but the session drops when the screen goes off.

Android's Doze mode can suspend the heartbeat that holds the camera session open. PhoTether runs a foreground service to prevent this, and can also ask to be exempted from battery optimisation. If drops persist, check that your phone's manufacturer battery manager has not restricted the app separately — several Android skins add their own layer on top of Doze.

Which cameras are supported?

The SL3 and Q3 family, M11 and M11 Monochrom, and newer bodies exposing the REST control interface over Wi-Fi or wired USB. Support depends on your camera's firmware version. PhoTether is an independent application and is not made, endorsed or supported by any camera manufacturer.

Where do my photographs go?

To storage private to PhoTether on your phone, and then only to a destination you set up yourself — an SMB share, an FTP/FTPS server, or a folder on the device or SD card. There is no PhoTether cloud and nothing is uploaded to the developer. See the privacy policy.

Uploads to my network share fail.

Check that the phone is on the same network as the share rather than still joined to the camera's own access point, that the share path and credentials are right, and that the destination has free space. The app's destination diagnostics will test the connection and report what it found.

Geotags are missing from my files.

Geotagging needs location permission granted and the feature switched on, and the camera has to be connected over Bluetooth at the moment of capture so coordinates can be pushed to it. Files captured before the link came up will not carry a position.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Everything except the optional place-name lookup and uploads to a remote server works entirely offline.
